The University Language Center offers free language courses in French, Spanish and German, aimed at achieving levels A1 to C1, in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) of the Council of Europe.
Access to the courses is restricted to Federico II students who are regularly enrolled in bachelor, master, specialisation, postgraduate and doctorate courses.
They take place in two periods of the year:
1st semester from october to january - registration opens in september.
2nd Semester from february to may - registration opens in january.
Each course is preceded by a placement test that allows the division of students into groups based on their level of language proficiency. This test is not required for basic courses.

Who can enrol:Those regularly enrolled (study course, master, specialisation, postgraduate and doctorate) at the University of Naples ‘Federico II’.
Costs:The courses are free of charge and the course level above A1 will be determined after the result of the test scheduled for 7 February.
Course schedule:The exercises will take place in presence at the CLA classrooms in via Mezzocannone 8, from February to May 2025 on the following days:
- Beginner course the meetings will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Fridays from 11:00 to 13:00;
- Course above A1 the meetings will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays from 14:30 to 16:30 and some Fridays from 11:00 to 13:00.
Placement test:
It will take place on 7 February 2025 at the Language Laboratory of the CLA in via Mezzocannone 8 - 4th, starting at 09:00.
Who can register for the test
Those regularly enrolled (study course, master's, specialisation, postgraduate and doctorate) at the University of Naples ‘Federico II’.
Placement test:
Necessary for inclusion in the courses, it will take place on 27 March in via Mezzocannone 8 - 4th floor from (CLA Language Laboratory) from 14:00.

The courses are free of charge.

- Those in possession of an international A2 level certification (obtained in the last 2 years), the copy must be sent to corsi.cla@unina.it by 23/02/2025;
- Or those who took the A2.2 level course at CLA in the semester October‘24/January’25 and took and passed the final test.
- Or those who have passed the 2nd year German language test at DSU

Schedule:The 50-hour course will start in March and finish at the end of May 2025.

Who can enrolThose regularly enrolled (study course, master's, specialisation, postgraduate and doctorate) at the University of Naples ‘Federico II’ who have a German language proficiency of A1 level.
Placement test:The test will take place on 19 February at 12 noon in the language laboratory of the CLA in via Mezzocannone 8, 4th floor.
Please note that:
- They must register for the test but not take it:
- Those in possession of an A1 level international certification obtained within the last 2 years, the copy of the certification must be sent to corsi.cla@unina.it by 16/02/2025;
- Or those who have actively followed the A1 level course with Dr Goeken in the semester October‘24/February’25 at CLA.
- Or those who have passed the first year of the three-year German language course at DSU.
Cost:The course is free of charge.
Schedule:The course will start between the end of February/beginning of March and will end in July 2025, it will be held on Tuesdays from 14:00 to 17:00 at the CLA Language Laboratory located in Via Mezzocannone 8, 4th floor.
