On Friday, 18 October 2024 at the Complesso Monumentale dei Santi Marcellino e Festo (Largo S. Marcellino), the 4th Intercultural Dialogue Day will take place from 2.30 p.m. onwards, entitled ‘Beyond Stereotypes. Travelling the world between symbols and icons'.
The event, organised by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo, will feature the Erasmus Incoming students, who worked on the creation of this project during the Italian Language and Culture courses organised by the CLA.
Through the various presentations and speeches that will be given by the foreign students and our guests, we will be able to embark on a real journey to discover the symbols and icons that characterise the different countries and cultures, discussing the stereotypes - more or less realistic - related to the different nationalities and reflecting on all those elements that - in an increasingly modern and globalised society - make each country unique and recognisable in the world.
Taking an active part in the event will be the Associazione Culturale Napulitanata - committed to enhancing classic Neapolitan song in the world - which will delight us with a musical performance by Mimmo Matania and Pasquale Pirolli, and the Associazione Centro La Tenda Onlus - active for years in the social fabric of the city - which, with a speech by Titty De Marco and Rossella Flagiello, will testify to the commitment of its operators in contributing to the redemption of the Rione Sanità.
Outside the location chosen for the event, in the Cloister of Saints Marcellinus and Festus, there will also be an exhibition of all the work carried out by the Erasmus Incoming students.
The event will be free admission, subject to availability.
If you are a foreign student and do not yet know Naples well, this seminar will be very useful for discovering the city.
Together with Rita Raimondo, teacher of Italian L2 and director of NaCLIPS, we will take you on a virtual tour through the alleyways of the historic centre, strolling through the streets of the Vomero, as far as Posillipo, from where you can admire breathtaking views. We will tell you about the traditions and symbols of this city that makes the whole world dream!

The non-verbal communication of native Italian speakers is to all intents and purposes an anthropological and sociological phenomenon. Italians communicate even without speaking, using their hands, eyes, body and facial expressions. Italian gestures are an essential adjunct to the study of the Italian language for all those who really want to learn to converse in this language. To discover them, attend the seminar 'Gesticolare' in collaboration with Rita Raimondo, Italian L2 teacher and director of NaCLIPS. There will be a theoretical and a practical part.
